Hi! I'm Emmy Kate (she/her).
I am 15 years old, and very passionate about local music - specifically its accessibility to young people under 18. I went to my first ever gig, which was Rosalie Chilvers "Glitter and Romance" Single Launch, in 2023, just before my 13th birthday!
I fell in love with local music when I saw Increment play at their EP launch at the Y HQ in 2024, and knew that I wanted to play a part in Perth's local scene. Since then I have been to countless gigs, with Increment and Vacate Palace being my favourite bands (I've seen both of them live like 10 times...), and am a part of StageDive - a local music organisation!
I have not only watched bands perform, but have performed myself - being the vocalist and lead guitarist for Blurskin (2023-2025). Although I am no longer with that band, I am pursuing my own solo project (@emmykatemusic), and hope to release music sometime this year!
I think that local music is so important to Australia, and that community is what helps build it. I aim for this page to be a way for anyone & everyone who is interested in Perth's local scene to interact with and read about the community!
